Camp Courage is staffed by volunteers including doctors, nurses, social workers, physical and occupational therapists, fire service personnel, teachers, and other professionals. Many of the staff are burn survivors themselves, a few were even campers at one point. The qualified staff participates in various professional development, team-building, and training sessions designed to prepare them to deal with the specific needs of burn survivors. This results in a highly dedicated group of volunteers.
Each year we need volunteers for the following positions: Counselors (guide campers through all activities all week); Ropes Crew (be a part of the ropes course, challenge course, archery or rifles); Art and Crafts (help campers express themselves creatively); and, Lifeguards (for the swimming pool and Lake Day).
To apply for Camp Courage 2019, click HERE. All volunteers must be available for MANDATORY TRAINING on May 4, 2019. New applicants must be available for interviews with the Core Committee on March 1 or 2, 2019. For more information contact programs@azburn.org.
