Peoria Fire-Medical Engine 194 saw this lady having some trouble getting home. The Firefighters hopped out of their fire truck and decided to walk and talk with her all the way to her doorstep.
If you see someone that may need a little help, lend them a hand. It’s the simple things in life that can make a huge difference.

Camp Courage is staffed by volunteers including doctors, nurses, social workers, physical and occupational therapists, fire service personnel, teachers, and other professionals. Many of the staff are burn survivors themselves, a few were even campers at one point. The qualified staff participates in various professional development, team-building, and training sessions designed to prepare them to deal with the specific needs of burn survivors. This results in a highly dedicated group of volunteers.

Each year we need volunteers for the following positions: Counselors (guide campers through all activities all week); Ropes Crew (be a part of the ropes course, challenge course, archery or rifles); Art and Crafts (help campers express themselves creatively); and, Lifeguards (for the swimming pool and Lake Day).

Applications for Camp Courage 2019 are now CLOSED. All volunteers must be available for MANDATORY TRAINING on May 4, 2019. New applicants must be available for interviews with the Core Committee on March 1 or 2, 2019. For more information contact programs@azburn.org.
