Milo and Moxie Reaching Across the State
Milo and Moxie are making their way across the state….
Arizona Burn Foundation launched its brand new children’s burn prevention and fire safety program, Milo and Moxie: Smart Safety Rangers, in mid-April 2017. In just three short months, 25 Fire Departments, 8 hospital Injury Prevention specialists, YMCA statewide, Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Phoenix and Scottsdale, and many other social service agencies have adopted the program to bring this safety message to children. 9500 Activity Books and Parent Guides have been distributed already, and we are gearing up for 25,000 more for the start of the 2017 school year.
Milo, a lovable and wise dog, teaches Moxie, an inquisitive hummingbird, how to prevent burn injury and be fire safe as they travel in and around the home. This comprehensive burn prevention and fire safety program comes with a set of flashcards for interactive games with children. Each child takes home an Activity Book/Parent Guide and Milo or Moxie stickers. Each classroom teacher receives a copy of the book for their library and a Milo and Moxie Safety Rules poster.
Arizona Burn Foundation is still accepting volunteers who would like to deliver Milo and Moxie: Smart Safety Rangers in schools across the state. We provide all the training and materials needed. To volunteer contact [email protected].
