This fall, we’re visiting neighborhoods across the state to help make Arizona families safer, and we need your help.

According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), working smoke alarms can reduce the risk of dying in a home fire by about 60%, yet many fire deaths still occur in homes without working alarms.

Through ABF’s Community Smoke Alarm Walks, volunteers, fire service partners, and the American Red Cross install no-cost smoke alarms and share lifesaving fire safety information with residents. A simple visit can make a lasting difference, especially for older adults and families who may need extra support.

Valley residents are grateful, sharing:

“Thank you for this program. I received two new smoke alarms and am very happy with your program. God bless you for the work you do.”

“Arizona Burn Foundation volunteers were friendly and arrived at my Sun City home at 9 a.m. to install three smoke alarms. Thank you so much.”

Every Smoke Alarm Walk is an opportunity to help a neighbor feel safer, more prepared, and better protected in an emergency. Whether you’re a first-time volunteer or a longtime supporter, your participation helps bring lifesaving resources directly to Arizona households.

Check out the Smoke Alarm Walk calendar and sign up for a volunteer opportunity near you. Together, we can help ensure every family has the early warning they need to escape a home fire safely.
