From August 2-4, we hosted our annual Camp Hope, a special weekend retreat for adult burn survivors aged 26 and over. This year’s camp housed 12 survivors and provided a unique opportunity for relaxation, connection, and personal growth.

Campers engaged in game nights and participated in sessions designed to enhance their storytelling and response skills, guided by Daniella Campas and Miranda Snyder. While also exploring intimate relationships and dating after burn injuries through these expert-led discussions. Caleb Mitchell’s session on “Your Brain and Trauma” helped survivors gain insights into their mental health, while yoga sessions led by Lara Rosenberg offered relaxation and stress relief.

They attended an open mic night which allowed survivors to share their experiences in a safe, supportive space, fostering deeper connections and understanding among participants.

Camp Hope successfully brought together survivors from diverse backgrounds, helping them bond and build confidence through shared activities and mutual support. We extend our gratitude to DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Phoenix Tempe for providing a comfortable setting for the weekend.
