Celebrating Camp Courage 2022

After a two year hiatus, Camp Courage 2022 was a grand success! The theme for this year’s camp was “Celebrate” and the entire week was certainly filled with celebrations, laughter, joy, healing, and bravery. It took place June 5 – June 11 in Prescott, AZ with 40+ campers and about 80 volunteers. Burn survivors age 6-20 grew in their confidence and friendships through activities such as rope challenge courses, equine therapy, arts and crafts, tie-dye, and more. Though some campers arrived with nerves on Day 1, they left camp with smiles, confidence, and a renewed sense of purpose after a week of bonding with fellow burn survivors and counselors. One of our first-time campers expressed how incredible it was to meet other burn survivors because up until this week, she had never met another burn survivor her age and thought she was the only one. Thank you to all of the volunteers, staff, and donors who helped her experience this true sense of belonging and for making Camp Courage a week of celebration for all of our 2022 campers!
