Happy New Year! Yes, it has arrived, so now, what do we do?

The past few weeks, we have all had conversations with our friends, families, and even our own internal monologues about once the New Year begins. I plan to… lose weight, exercise more, eat healthier, etc.

We all have a few self-improvement ideas that we want to institute in our lives. The beginning of a new year seems to be a wonderful place to start. But what about a bigger idea? What more should we be looking at in 2024 to improve not only ourselves but our communities?

Now, more than ever, people are so busy. So many things can come up in our days, distracting us from seeing the needs that we have the power to address almost immediately.

The Arizona Burn Foundation would like to ask you, this year, to resolve to make an everlasting impact on the survivors of a burn injury. Not only on the individual who may be injured but also on the entire family. By giving a year-end gift or volunteering your time, you can make 2024 a year of impact for both you and the burn community.

If your desire is to prevent the next burn injury, ABF can assist with that goal as well. We have many volunteer opportunities and donation opportunities to install working smoke alarms in underserved areas throughout Arizona. Additionally, we provide educational materials to elementary school children to raise awareness of dangers in their homes. This also helps parents be prepared in case the unthinkable happens, and a fire starts in their homes.

So, of course, make those resolutions for self-improvement if necessary. But please, also consider making a resolution to be the reason a burn survivor and their family can not only survive a fire but can also thrive.

Stay safe everyone, and I look forward to hearing from you and seeing you soon.
