Southwest Wildfire Awareness Week

Every year, wildfires burn thousands of acres across Arizona, risking lives, destroying properties, and harming our state’s natural resources. This week is Southwest Wildfire Awareness Week, a time to draw awareness to wildfire prevention. The Arizona Burn Foundation is working diligently to educate children and families through Milo and Moxie: Wildfire Prevention, a rhyming storybook that teaches families critical information such as campfire safety, clearing debris away from your home, being prepared with shovels and nearby water sources, and building an emergency supply kit. Thanks to Fiesta Bowl Charities, this educational material is now available in Spanish as well. If you are interested in helping prevent wildfires by teaching this material in schools and community centers, please email programs@azburn.org.
