January CEO Corner

Happy New Year from all of us here at ABF. As we reflect on 2021 we once again see our burn community impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and our programs were held virtually.  We feel strongly that we are still delivering opportunities for our families to stay connected and make an impact on their journey to healing and thriving.

As 2021 came to a close we had our first opportunity to bring our community together for our 23rd Annual Holiday Festival of Trees.  We had over 400 attendees who were able to join the celebration. The energy in the room was high and the opportunity to share stories with old friends and meeting new friends was awesome.

As we now start 2022, ABF has worked with our families, volunteers, and the locations where we host our camp programs and we will be holding Family Camp in person this month, as well as host our Young Adult Retreat, Camp Courage and Adult Retreat, all in person in 2022.  For those that still feel uncomfortable we will continue to offer our programs virtually.

We will continue to offer many of our support groups as well as our arts and music programs virtually to be able to conveniently serve our clients that join those activities throughout the state.

As we look forward to getting back to live activities I want to thank you all for your continued support and patience as we have all worked, in our own way, through the past 2 years.

If you are a camper, we hope you plan to rejoin these fantastic programs in the coming year; and, if you have volunteered in the past, please look for an email soon to see how we can all come together to support our many clients and our programs.
