CEO Corner September 2024

The summer mercifully is starting to wind down.  Arizona heat has once again set records and once again ABF has been there to support the families that have been impacted by these record-breaking hot months.

As a supporter of ABF, you have allowed for families that have been impacted by a burn trauma to receive immediate support from ABF and our Client Care Services teams in the first few days and sometimes hours of that trauma.  Connecting our team at the Arizona Burn Center as well as Banner-University Medical Center Tucson to the families at the earliest stages of the burn journey allows for the family members to start to feel that support from our mission makes for some immediate stress relief for both family and ultimately the survivor.

Whether it is taking some of the immediate lodging needs of the family, some financial relief, or just a person to sit and talk while they have so many questions, we are here because of your support and can make that difference for the families as they start the journey from Surviving to Thriving.

As we have seen, the impact of burn can happen to anyone at anytime so please be careful in the Arizona heat.  Confirm you have working smoke alarms in your homes, be mindful in the kitchen with young curious children while cooking and know if anything does happen, we at ABF will be here in that time of need.

As a donor if you would like to know more about how your gift has made all this possible, please reach out to me and we can make that connection with you.

Stay safe everyone and I look forward to hearing from you and seeing you soon.
