The Timber Mesa/Show Low Community Smoke Alarm Walk on May 20th officially closed out the Spring smoke alarm walk season. We are forever grateful to the volunteers, firefighters, and community members who invested time into protecting communities across Arizona through smoke alarm installations. This Spring alone, we were able to install 1,564 smoke alarms in 660 homes with 369 volunteers! We were also able to provide 1,177 smoke alarms to our partnering fire departments to install in the coming months, for a total of 2,741 alarms total. We take a break for Community Smoke Alarm Walks during the Summer months, but we continue to install Deaf and Hard of Hearing smoke alarm systems throughout the summer! If you are interested in volunteering with our Deaf and Hard of Hearing Smoke Alarm Installation program, please reach out to programs@azburn.org.
