Volunteer Spotlight: Reva Edgerton Pallone

“Anything for the kids.”

It’s Reva Edgerton Pallone’s motto, so to speak.

Born and raised in Elmira, New York, Reva and her partner, Mary, visited Cottonwood, Arizona, a decade ago—and, as they say, the rest is history.

A Heart for Kids

Coming from a large family with 39 cousins, all of whom had children of their own, Reva quickly earned a reputation as the “cool one” everyone wanted to hang out with. Between that and her experience coaching, Reva has always had a deep love for kids.

A Personal Connection

Shortly after moving to Arizona, Reva met Becca Riffel, former owner of Main Stage Sports Bar and a burn survivor. Through Becca, Reva learned about the Arizona Burn Foundation and Camp Courage.

Reva and members of the Sisterhood Connection Foundation became steadfast volunteers for the annual Live with Courage event—going door to door to secure donations for the silent auction. She credits much of their success to the closeness and generosity of Cottonwood and the surrounding communities.

“I just walk in and they hand over the donations,” Reva says with a laugh. She also purchases additional raffle items herself and was up at 3 a.m. on event day baking cookies.

Seeing is Believing

Last year, Reva experienced Camp Courage in action for the first time during Sponsor Day—a special day for partners and donors to witness firsthand the impact of their generosity.

Reflecting on the experience, Reva says, “It was heartwarming, believe me, to see the kids running around, enjoying life without any fear. And the fire departments were having just as much fun!”

Reva’s advice for others looking to get involved—whether through volunteering, donating, or simply learning more—is simple:

“Seeing is believing. Do it for the kids—that’s what it’s all about.”
